This three to four hour course covers the basics of leather carving and embellishments. In this class you can expect to become acquainted with the handling and use of embossing tools and the swivel knife. A choice of three designs will be provided to choose from. Enrollment is limited to ensure everyone receives personal attention. No prerequisite skills are required.
Materials include pre-cut leather; tools for marking, embossing and carving; care, cloth, conditioner, etc. as well as mallets, sponges and marble.
Daniel McRorie has been making and fixing shoes for more than ten years. At age nineteen, Daniel began working for a local cobbler in Winnipeg, Manitoba. From there he began exploring all aspects of the trade as an orthotic technician, shop apprentice to factory work making cowboy boots and ropers. From there Daniel went on to owning and operating his own shop. Most recently Daniel has studied under Marcell Mrsan, Hungarian master shoe maker. Currently, Daniel is one of the founders of Knickerbocker Mfg. Co. and manages the production of the caps and upcoming leather goods line.
One month notice is required for full refund or credit; less than one month is 50% refund or credit. Less than one week there will be no refund. Once class has begun there are no make up sessions.
