This course covers the basics needed to sew and finish your own wallet in a three to four hour course. You can expect to become acquainted with the techniques necessary to mark and punch, saddle stitch, personalize and care for your leather wallet. Enrollment is limited to ensure everyone receives personal attention. No prerequisite skills are required.
Materials include die cut wallet sides; tools for marking and punching holes for stitches; needles and thread for sewing; burnishing tools for finishing techniques; care, cloth, conditioner, etc. as well as marble and leather for punching.
Kyle Mosholder is manufacturer of canvas and leather goods under the name of d’emploi. He has been sewing bags and accessories for six years and is always learning new tools and techniques for making better and stronger products. Conscious of the resurgence of handmade and American made goods, he strives to improve the quality of people’s expectations of what they can do with their hands.
One month notice is required for full refund or credit; less than one month is 50% refund or credit. Less than one week there will be no refund. Once class has begun there are no make up sessions. Make up work and instruction for missed workshops is at the discretion of the teacher. Requests for any refund must be done via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
