Waits/Corbijn '77-'11 stands as the celebration of a rich artist collaboration that spans more than 35 years. By 1977, Tom Waits had an established international reputation. At the same time, Anton Corbijn was a fairly inexperienced young photographer. He first shot Waits in Holland and from then on their artistic paths were intertwined. Waits' vibrant personality would help Corbijn develop his cinematic style of photography, while Corbijn's photography helped Waits develop his visual style and theatrical presence.
