To wrap up our history lessons regarding WWI we wanted to focus on a brand that was not only around during the era, but also still lives on producing quality products made to last.
Chippewa began in 1901 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin with the mission to build footwear with the “guts and determination of the loggers and engineers who paved the way, built the roads, and constructed the buildings that have made this country what it is today.” That mission still stands and is very similar to the message that was at the core of products during WWI. They build a style of boot that contains many of the elements essential to the trench boot and incorporate that same utility into their newer products.
Chippewa built their brand with quality and utility at the center and have made products that serve the needs of America’s working force. With over 100 years of history it is apparent that utility and style can lead to longevity for a brand.
